Britney Spears was performing at her residency, "Piece Of Me," at The Axis inside the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Las Vegas on Oct. 23, 2016, when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction. Britney Spears almost bared her chest in front of the live audience.
Mashable reported that Britney Spears a miniskirt and halter top while doing her cover of "I Love Rock N' Roll." Fan footage initially featured Britney Spears with a male backup dancer behind her. The man was fixing her top as the pop star continued her song in place.
Everyone thought that the ordeal was over but her wardrobe immediately dropped down again from one shoulder as soon as the dancer moved away from Britney Spears. The clasp at the back of her neck seemed to be defective and kept unhinging.
Two male backup dancers went back behind Britney Spears and tried to fix her top again. Britney Spears was holding on to her chest with her left hand as she finished the song. The halter seemed to hold up better when she was done with the number. When she moved on to the song, "Gimme More," her top was obviously still causing her problems.
Thankfully, one of her male backup dancers came up with a solution quickly by taking off his flannel for the star to button up over her failing halter. The dancer gracefully took off his shirt and covered Britney Spears as they performed the group dance, as if it were all part of the choreograph. The male dancer finished the number topless to save Britney Spears.
The Sun wrote that Britney Spears, 34, is a veteran live performer so the whole ordeal did not seem to have affected her, as she powered through the show and kept singing and dancing until it was over. "I Love Rock N' Roll" was mashed up with "Gimme More," which meant that Britney Spears no longer had time to take a short break to address the issue.
Overall, the show was a success and fans applauded the singer and her crew throughout. Britney Spears' residency is still available in Las Vegas.
