Facebook is about to be reveal its new Facebook Home, and the revelation will be coming via a HTC handset. While nothing really is known as to what the new feature will be, details and rumors are trickling in.
All that is known about the event is that Facebook is actually planning to unveil a a rich yet trimmed down version of its Android app at an upcoming press event, alongside the first hardware to run that experience out of the box.
9To5Google states: “The phone, by HTC, is appropriately named “First”—appropriate because of its status as the premiere phone to undergo Facebookification and its similarity to the name of HTC’s newest flagship, the One.”
This is a new bit of information after Android Police already leaked the Facebook Home on its site. The site also revealed the build.prop file that gives a basic idea of the phone:
- Manufacturer: HTC
- Model: MYSTUL (Myst_UL)
- Carrier: AT&T
- Platform: MSM8960 (Dual Core)
- Ram: 1GB
- Display: 4.3 inch @ 720p resolution

- Sense Version: 4.5

- Front Camera = 1.6M

Looks like the Home feature will sport a minimalistic approach with some nods toward using the device for photography. Maybe there will also be a button that will direct the user to post content to Facebook that will appear prominently above the app laucher.
