"Dark Souls 3" has released its first downloadable content Ashes of Ariandel, and gamers are practically raving about it in terms of its aesthetics. The winter forest setting was a balance of beauty and death traps. The avalanche and presence of new enemies make the game more exciting.
Ashes of Ariandel brings an environment that looks serene with snow and trees on the hillside. Unknown to the player of "Dark Souls 3," packs of wolves have suddenly and silently surrounded them. Even the trees have painful magic orbs that will surely surprise the new player.
The traditional enemies in Ashes of Ariandel come in small and large sizes. "Dark Souls 3" has strategically scattered them so that players will always be on guard. These humanoid threats will throw spears, spitfires and anything just to hunt you down.
The challenges brought about by the first DLC Ashes of Ariandel are difficult enough to wow some serious gamers. The design was intricately thought of, showing off a small village, a huge church and an abandoned tower. Players of "Dark Souls 3" will enjoy discovering new weapons, armor sets and even magic to defeat the evil in the land.
On the other hand, some critics say that "Dark Souls 3" Ashes of Ariandel has a vague narrative. The descriptions of some items and some dialogues are a little bit confusing as well, but its voiceover is pleasantly eerie.
Ashes of Ariandel will only take around three to five hours to explore. "Dark Souls 3" players seem to find that too short to play. The game's first DLC costs only $15, but players can also go for $25 for a bundle that has the second expansion which is expected to be released in 2017.
"Dark Souls 3" first DLC Ashes of Ariandel is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Steam and Xbox One with cover from Nirvana's "Lake of Fire." Stay tuned to GamenGuide as we keep you updated.
