With the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus already making its rounds, the attention has now shifted to what Apple may have to offer in 2018. As most know, the iPhone 8 is expected to offer an entirely new design and rumors on what to expect have already started.
Things such as OLED displays and glass casings are nothing new as far as what Apple has in mind though a whole lot more is expected. Much of this was covered in a previous post, which adds that Apple is expectedly busy at work on its planned refresh.
Revolutionary iPhone 8
KGI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has been a prime resource for updates and new reports have confirmed and even improved on their takes. It also includes the OLED screen and clear glass molding for the iPhone 8, as mentioned by UploadVR tech blogger Robert Scoble on Facebook.
According to the post, he affirms the fact that the iPhone 8 will indeed come out with a clear piece of glass and a next generation OLED screen. But the kicker comes in the form of the eye sensors that will allow holograms on top of the device. The feature is said to be something fairly similar to the Microsoft HoloLens bringing an entirely new kind of interface for the iPhone 8.
The iPhone 8 will allegedly come with a 3D sensor from PrimeSense, a company that Apple previously bought. Roughly 600 engineers are reportedly working on the new technology and are touted as the actual game-changer for Apple and the smartphone industry.
Aside from that, the iPhone 8 is speculated to come with battery and antennas that will be hidden around the device’s edges. If reliable, this could be another game-changing feature which will further contribute to the device’s expected thin make.
The take of Scoble sounds pretty revolutionary with technology that seems pretty way off, BGR reported. Seeing how Apple has somehow lagged behind on updates, applying the mentioned features for the iPhone 8 could more than makeup for their snail's pace updates.
