'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Controversy

TWD fans were on the edge of their seats while they were waiting for Negan's kill. "The Walking Dead" season 7 premiere fooled around with the heartbeats of the viewers - some scenes heartbreaking, heart-stopping and invoking major palpitations.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 premiere has sent online forums and social media platforms ablaze with but it also raised the eyebrows of critics for its alleged violent content. Reports say that there was an internet backlash after "The Walking Dead" season 7 premiere. 

"The Walking Dead" season 7temporarily took the air out of the viewers' lungs as the killing of both Glenn and Abraham unfolded. The killing of two major characters in one episode seemed a bit too much for the viewers. However, the internet backlash was not because of who died in "The Walking Dead" season 7 premiere - it was about their manner of death.

'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Facing Cancellation?

With the complaints thrown against "The Walking Dead" season 7 pointing to too much violence and brutality, the fans are worried that the network might sanction TWD or worse, cancel it. Although "The Walking Dead" has had its fair share of violence in previous seasons, it appears that the violence in "The Walking Dead" season 7 has increased a notch higher.

Some of the fans did not take the harrowing violence in "The Walking Dead" season 7 well and threatened to stop watching the show. Some of the fans took the gruesome premiere of "The Walking Dead" season 7 and joked that they might have to go to therapy after watching the premiere.

Greg Nicotero, the director of the episode, defended his work and said that the violence was needed to make the scenes have an impact with the viewers. As of writing, AMC has yet to comment on the possibility of "The Walking Dead" season 7 cancellation or suspension.
