A new season of "Scandal" was supposed to air this fall but fans had to extend their wait after it was announced that the series will premiere sometime in 2017. This decision was made to accommodate lead star Kerry Washington's pregnancy. "Scandal" Season 6, technically, isn't done with filming just yet since Washington recently gave birth to her second child.
With "Scandal" Season 6 out of the way in the meantime, its Thursday night timeslot was handed over to "Notorious," which is the odd one out since it is the only series that isn't created by Shonda Rhimes. Although "Notorious" isn't a ShondaLand series, Hollywood Life describes it to offer the same vibe as the political thriller series.
Meanwhile, spoiler reports suggest that there are a lot of things Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) can do once he steps down as President of the United States in "Scandal" Season 6. For one, Fitz and Olivia (Kerry Washington) are expected to reunite down the line since he will finally have time to devote himself to winning her back. Although it remains unclear at this point what Fitz will be up to after he retires, the cast shared some of their thoughts to The Hollywood Reporter in April what the character could be up to next.
Executive producer Betsy Beers thinks that Fitz can do anything he pleases once he is no longer POTUS. For instance, the EP believes the Republican can become a judge, a PI or even an advocate next. What's more interesting is that Beers said that Fitz can do anything even after "Scandal" Season 6 -possibly have a spin-off dedicated to him. Goldwyn, on the other hand, thinks that his character will become much happier once he is out of office. The actor also hopes that Olivia Pope will be in Fitz's life after everything.
People can only hope that "Olitz" will finally happen in "Scandal" Season 6. Since nothing has been confirmed yet, fans should stay tuned for more updates. The new season of "Scandal" is expected to premiere sometime in 2017. ABC has yet to announce an official release date.
