‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers, News & Update: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Fans Might Get Their Delena Reunion Wish After All!

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 premiere last week introduced a lot of new things to the show, such as its new villain. However, it also rekindled hope for the one thing most long time fans are rooting for - the return of the Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder pairing also known as Delena.

EP Reveals Nina Dobrev 100% Wants To Be In "The Vampire Diaries" Season

Chances are good that Nina Dobrev will be reprising her role as Elena opposite Ian Somerhalder's Damon in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Actually, it's better than good. The latest confirmation come from the woman who knows it all, Executive Producer Julie Plec.

According to Julie Plec in an interview with ET Online, Nina Dobrev is 100 percent certain of her desire to return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, being its finale. On Plec's side, the EP is likewise 100 percent certain that she wants Nina Dobrev back to finish the story between Nina's Elena and Ian Somerhalder's Damon.

For now, it's all about the scheduling. But since both parties are keen for it to happen, then "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 fans may finally get their wish of Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder finally continuing their love story. Plec even revealed that she would be as devastated as their fans if it didn't.

The New Villain In 'The Vampire Diaries" Season 8

Of course, with "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 being the last season, the series has revealed its baddest villain yet. Sybil has a very unusual power in that she possesses total control over Ian Somerhalder's character Damon as well as Enzo.

However, it appears that the concept of Sybil is not very easy to elaborate on as a subject, even by "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 cast members themselves. In an interview with TV Line, actor Paul Wesley confirms that he had a hard time grasping the concept, which he describes as cerebral. Ian Somerhalder, on the other hand, confirms that the last season will be darker than the rest.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 airs on Fridays on The CW. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for updates.
