It's no surprise that "Narcos" has been renewed for two more seasons. Wagner Moura portrayed the role of Pablo Escobar so impressively but this will be short-lived since the series is based on historical events. Escobar's reign may have ended but "Narcos" Season 3 brings a new villainous group - the Cali Cartel. Netflix recently announced new cast members for the third season but fans still wonder if Boyd Holbrook will return to reprise his role as DEA agent Steve Murphy.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, "Narcos" Season 3 welcomes Michael Stahl-David and Matt Whelan as its new series regulars. Stahl-David will play the role of young American DEA agent Chris Feistl. Feistl asked to be assigned to Columbia to take down Cali Cartel. Whelan, on the other hand, will play Daniel Van Ness, Feistl's partner.
It was already confirmed that Pedro Pascal will return to reprise Javier Pena as he was recently featured in the first production photo for "Narcos" Season 3. However, in the real-life events, Murphy and Pena left shortly after Escobar's death. As mentioned in the previous report from GamenGuide, both real-life agents confirmed that they weren't involved in taking down the Cali Cartel.
Also on board for "Narcos" Season 3 is Kerry Bishé and Arturo Castro, both also series regulars, Deadline reported. Bishé plays the role of American woman Christina who has a Colombian husband whom she met in college. Christina's husband is involved in the cartel and eventually, she wants to get out. She then sought help from the U.S. Embassy. Castro takes the role of William Rodriguez, the oldest son of Miguel. William feels he doesn't want to take over the cartel but since his father and uncle were both arrested, he decides to take over.
Still unknown at this point is whether or not Boyd Holbrook will return in the upcoming season. "Narcos" Season 3 returns in 2017 and Netflix has yet to confirm an exact date. Fans should get more updates in the coming months so stay tuned.
