‘Watch Dogs 2’ Release Date, News & Update: There Will Be No Ubisoft Towers; Focus On Exploring San Francisco

The "Watch Dogs 2" open world was recently showcased by Ubisoft in a new trailer. "Watch Dogs 2" will be set in San Francisco and the video presented many of the features and attractions that players can enjoy when the game arrives.

GameSpot revealed that the "Watch Dogs 2" trailer provides a glimpse of downtown San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Marin County and Oakland. Players can try different modes of transportation in the open world, such as sports cars, speedboats, sailboats, dirt bikes, jeeps and quads, among others. "Watch Dogs 2" will also include several hacks weapons, which will be useful becauseaccording to protagonist Marcus, tech rules everything in the Bay Area.

In the "Watch Dogs 2" trailer, which lasted two and a half minutes, the hacker Marcus initially flew his drone all over the city. He explained how corrupt corporations tend to take advantage of tech to get richer, while others have no opportunity.

Marcus claimed that he can hack anything, which is why it is his job to take back and restore the balance in the city. The following scenes featured Marcus hacking through systems, infiltrating enemy territory and handling various types of weapons and vehicles. He ended the "Watch Dogs 2" trailer by welcoming gamers to San Francisco.

Eurogamer stated that the creators of "Watch Dogs 2" decided to deviate from the first game by showcasing a more fun and playful environment, away from Ubisoft's towers. "Watch Dogs 2" creative director Jonathan Morin said that there will be no towers in the new game, and players will just explore the new open world.

"Watch Dogs 2" senior producer Dominic Guay said that they wanted to stop relying on a frequently used formula, and instead, introduce a structure that rewarded players for exploring the world. In "Watch Dogs 2," they put more value on the places and exploration, instead of having gamers sweep through icons on the map.

"Watch Dogs 2" will be released on Nov. 15, 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will also launch on PC on November 29. More updates and details on "Watch Dogs 2" are expected soon.
