Taylor Swift got fans excited as she sang her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris' hit single "This is what you came for". She performed the song live last Saturday night at the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin Texas. Taylor Swift sang her rendition of the the song for the crowd on white piano as an acoustic version.
Taylor Swift said before playing the song that she has never sang the song live before. She also requested the crowd of 80,000 people to sing along with her so she could feel what it's like for the crowd to sing it back. This has been the first concert the singer-songwriter has done this year.
The videos of Taylor Swift singing the song trended after fans posted it online. According to Billboard, #TaylorSwiftOnUSGP trended from the tweets of the concert goers as well as the audience while she was performing live. Taylor Swift also performed songs from her latest album "1989" like "New Romatics" as well as songs from her previous albums.
"This is what you came for" was sung by Rhianna that made waves last summer. Time reported that Calvin Harris tweeted that Taylor Swift wanted to keep her identity and involvement as secret. This is to prevent the "Blank Space" singer from over shadowing her ex-boyfriend. She was credited under the pseudonym, Nils Sjoberg.
Taylor Swift is still on the low-key in the limelight after her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Fans are disappointed because she usually releases a new album every two years during the fall except this year to take a sabbatical from making music.
There were even theories and rumors about a surprise album on social media. The Saturday concert was also the 10 anniversary of Taylor Swift's self-titled debut.
