After an appearance of "Borderlands 3" Easter Eggs in Battleborn Story Operation, fans are now somehow sure what the setting of the new installment will be. Many are excited on the adventure that awaits them come next year.
The clue to the "Borderlands 3" on the new Battleborn story was earlier revealed through the vault icon, the franchise's symbol. The word "Promethea" can be taken out by reading through the letters and turning the vault around. The term refers to a planet in the game where alien technology was found and is said to be where "Borderlands 3" is headed.
What is Promethea?
Discussing more about "Promethea," it was also noted that the life conditions in this planet are "harsh." It is considered worse than what characters are experiencing in Pandora. Game fans discussed that there could be a possibility that players will see Atlas again where the roots of ancient technology was found. On the other hand, some are still hoping that the game's setting will be in different planets.
"Each could have a different corporation dominant (or some with corporations in conflict with each other, or free of corporate influence). Promethea would certainly be a good one to see more of Atlas," said Reddit user PastryChefSniper. Others said this could really be explored by game developers just like the travel maps of Mass Effect.
'Borderlands 3' Release Date
Back in April, Gearbox confirmed that "Borderlands 3" is coming. Though nothing is sure yet, fans are expecting the game to be released either next year or in 2018. The game could also have a change in title as teased by Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford. He claimed that the team behind the game is still not sure if they will indeed call it "Borderlands 3." Art director Scott Kester has also been confirmed to be part of the upcoming installment.
