MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, News & Update: Will Apple Launch Its Premium Laptop on October 27? Impressive Specs & Features Revealed

The Macbook Pro is undoubtedly Apple's highest end and most premium laptop device. With the tail end of 2016 already drawing closer, when will the Macbook Pro 2016 be officially released?

Release Date Rumors

October 27 is the most likely candidate as the official release date for the Macbook Pro 2016. There have been various reports saying that Apple has been sending out media invites for their October event.

Apple has also posted the link for the livestream of the event through their official website. This is an interesting situation for Apple as it is just a mere day after Microsoft's own event, which could unveil one of the largest competitors of the Macbook Pro 2016.

If this rumor were true, then Apple could be releasing the Macbook Pro 2016 just in time for the holidays. This would definitely boost their sales, as well as bring discounts and bundles for their potential customers.

No More Headphone Jack?

The biggest flak and most questionable move that Apple made this year with their devices is the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. According to a report from Forbes, this could eventually make its way to the Macbook Pro 2016, as Apple is going with brand cohesion and pushing for a truly wireless device.

In addition to this, the conventional USB ports will then be similarly axed. This will give way for the more efficient USB Type-C ports and connectors for the Macbook Pro 2016. However, if Apple decides to put only one port like what they did in the lower end Macbook, the device might draw even more flak.

OLED Panel and Magic Peripherals

Perhaps the most awaited feature of the Macbook Pro 2016 is the touchscreen OLED panel atop of the chiclet keyboard. The usual function keys will now be replaced by a black panel that would adapt to whatever app, program, or setting is open or set by the user.

There would also be native support for the magic mouse, magic trackpad, and magic keyboard. These peripherals would most likely make their debut as part of the Macbook Pro 2016 bundle.
