"Wasteland 3" is garnering massive support from CRPG and InXile fans everywhere. In a recent development, the latest installment in the recently revitalized Wasteland franchise has just surpassed the $3 million mark and continues to climb.
According to GameSpot, the Fig-housed crowd funding campaign for "Wasteland 3" has already left its predecessor's previous crowd funding campaign in the dust; with "Wasteland 2" garnering $2.9 million in crowd support. The positive fan response has been staggering so far as the latest Wasteland game managed to attain over $2.75 million in just three days.
The collective support from "Wasteland 3" fans has already unlocked several stretch goals that are expected to be implemented in the final product. These stretch goals include a talking car companion -- codenamed Morning Star -- and a fully customizable insignia for the player's respective ranger squad if crowd funding surpasses the $3.1 million mark.
This latest venture into a frozen, barren, yet harrowingly beautiful post-apocalyptic wasteland has gamers chomping at the bit to find out what new innovations InXile will bring to the table in "Wasteland 3." One of these new features includes multiplayer functionality; to make traversing through the extremely dangerous world a little less lonesome.
As per PC Gamer, a recent Fig update just revealed more details about the exciting new multiplayer feature of "Wasteland 3." The multiplayer aspect will allow players to assist each other complete campaign missions. Players have the option to choose whether they want to stick together as a collective unit and stand together against enemy units, or split up and cover multiple objectives at once. Players will control their own respective Ranger squads and each of their decisions and actions in the Wasteland will have consequences for both players, potentially with or without their consent.
