"Fish Out of Water" is the follow-up to Halfbrick's ultra-successful "Fruit Ninja" and "Jetpack Joyride," two games that set the standard for seemingly simple games with deep mechanics if the player wanted them. The company announced the game in a release on Tuesday.
Judging by the trailer, the game looks to combine elements of "Jetpack Joyride" and "Angry Birds." Players are charged with throwing their fish across the ocean and having them skip as far as possible. There are several different types of fish, the conditions of the ocean affect how far the fish wil go and a group of crabs will grade your performance. Leveling your fish will unlock gems which can be used to purchase bonuses. Bonuses are an obvious point for in-app purchases, although no information about them has been released.
The game will cost 99 cents and will be on iOS first. A release date announcement is expected shortly. Watch the trailer and see if it's something you'd play.
