'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Poster, Trailer Has First Look At Baby Groot But Where's Pom Klementieff's Mantis?

The world now has its first glimpse at "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", which is beginning to look just as awesome as the first film. Both the poster and trailer for the sequel have offered a first look at the adorable Baby Groot as well as Nebula's shinier new costume.

But where exactly is Pom Klementieff's Mantis, who is set to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? Has James Gunn forgotten to add the new character or is the director hiding the alien a little longer?

Baby Groot Finally Revealed In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Poster, Trailer

Fans have already seen the MCU concept art and fan art for Baby Groot, but the smaller version of Rocket's sidekick has finally been revealed. Director James Gunn posted the first "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" poster on his Facebook page, where he admitted that it was inspired by the album cover for the Ramones' "Rocket To Russia."

The "GotG V2" poster also confirms that the team have added Yondu and Nebula, who appears to have a shiny new look. In addition to that, Gunn made sure people noticed the little Groot holding on to Star-Lord's leg.

Notice anything missing? The "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" poster shows characters who were already in the first movie. However, there is no sign of Pom Klementieff, who will portray new MCU character Mantis. James Gunn's favorite new actress was nowhere to be found in the poster as well as the teaser trailer.

'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Trailer Has More Ooga Chaka Action But Still No Mantis

James Gunn also shared the first teaser for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". There is plenty of awesome footage, from Yondu walking with Rocket in slo-mo and Drax giving Star-Lord a much-needed hug.

The trailer even ends with Baby Groot on Rocket's shoulder. Unfortunately, Pom Klementieff is still absent from the video, leading fans to speculate that Gunn is saving Mantis as a major surprise for the film's premiere.

There is still a possibility that Mantis will finally show up in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" official full-length trailer. In the meantime, keep checking GamenGuide for more updates on upcoming MCU films.
