"The Originals" season 4 is brimming with cancellation rumors after "The Vampire Diaries" was announced to end after season 8. With the original series coming to an end, fans can't help but speculate the end for its spinoff as well.
If "The Originals" season 2 will be the final season, what will happen to the Mikaelson's then? Is there any hope that the series may be saved?
What Will Happen To The Mikaelsons?
GameNGuide previously reported that fans fear that "The Originals" season 4 may be the last of the fantasy-drama series. With the cancellation of its original series, many believed that "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff may soon follow.
There were suggestions that a crossover from "The Vampire Diaries" may salvage the show, particularly the presence of Caroline in New Orleans. GameNGuide also reported that there are speculations that Julie Plec may ask Nina Dobrev to crossover to "The Originals" season 4 after "TVD" wraps up.
However, if all of these efforts fail, what will happen to the Mikaelsons then? The previous season of "The Originals" saw the Mikaelsons in a horrible state so it's likely that Hayley may never save them in time.
Also, series creator Julie Plec hinted that there will be issues among the siblings in the upcoming season. Given the fiver-year time jump, it should be expected that a lot of changes may take place when "The Originals" season 4 airs next year.
Efforts To Save 'The Originals' Season 4
"The Originals" season 4 is expected to air sometime in January 2017, however, the series may not air on The CW anymore after season 4. Some fans are thinking that the vampire drama may get transferred to ABC or Netflix so it can continue its story.
Just like many other series, this could definitely happen. But will fans continue watching it on a different network? Earlier reports say that "The Originals" ratings have dwindles, hence the decrease of the episode order for season 4. Reports are saying that series creator Julie Plec seemed to be desperate to save "The Originals" season 4.
Do you think the Mikaelsons will continue to their story? Do you think a crossover from "The Vampire Diaries" will save the show? More so, will the series continue to air in The CW? Let us know what you think by leaving your comments below.
