'Chicago Med' Season 2 Spoilers: Medical Team Race Against Time in Chicago Marathon Accident; Emergency Procedure Cost Victim's Life?

A tragic storyline awaits fans in the upcoming episode of "Chicago Med" Season 2 as what was supposed to be a fun day at the Chicago Marathon instead turns into a chaotic one by a car accident. The medical team sent to the crash scene are forced to spring right into action to save the victim.

In episode 5 of "Chicago Med" Season 2 titled "Extreme Measures", the doctors will again have another busy week according to the official synopsis, according to some reports. A team headed by Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) will head out to attend to the victim of the car crash. With Halstead are April (Yaya DaCosta) and Noah (Roland Buck III).

Once they reach the marathon site, the medical team will realize that they will have to perform a complicated medical procedure in order to save the patient right there out in the field. TV Guide reports that the sneak peek of the "Chicago Med" episode shows Dr. Halstead having a rare moment of self doubt.

Noah will decide to act quickly even if he knows that he is in over his head in attempting to save the victim. According to Halstead, he may even have made the wrong call so he hesitates to pull the trigger on the extreme measures that need to be done in this week's episode of "Chicago Med" Season 2. It remains to be seen if Halstead's moment of hesitation cost the man his life.
But, the three of them will not be the only ones busy in the next episode. Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) will be dealing with another matter. He will worry over and look after Olga (Bette Buckley) who is suffering from a case of malnutrition. He will be working with Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) to find a remedy to her situation in the same "Chicago Med" episode.

Meanwhile, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) will try to figure out a way on how she can take control of her personal life, as noted in some reports. In the same "Chicago Med" episode, Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) will look into the case of an 8-year old girl who suddenly lost her sense of hearing.

Last week's episode of "Chicago Med" Season 2 introduced Robin, Dr. Charles' daughter. She is an epidemiologist who was called to help the doctors of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center investigate the same rare infection several hospital patients were afflicted with. Episode 5 of "Chicago Med" Season 2 will air on October 20, Thursday, on NBC.
