It's beginning to look like the first episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 could be the most depressing premiere in television history. The premiere is already promising to reveal that Negan takes two victims instead of one and might also kidnap a third member of the group.
But is it possible that Jeffrey Dean Morgan's villain will take it one step further by chopping off Rick Grimes' right hand? Will TV Negan do what the comic book Governor did to Rick in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 1?
Greg Nicotero Confirms Negan Will Use That Axe To Chop Off Rick's Right Hand In 'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Episode 1?
Remember how the sneak peek of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 1 had Negan taking Rick's axe before he drags the protagonist into the trailer? Fans immediately feared the worst for Rick Grimes, especially since the villain kept referring to right hands and right hand men.
Executive producer Greg Nicotero teases on the possibility that Rick will lose more than just a right hand man (or two) in "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be". "It's safe to say that the axe could play a prominent part in ['The Day Will Come That You Won't Be']," Greg Nicotero told ComicBook.
Since it's highly unlikely that Rick will be using the hatchet to kill Negan and escape from the Saviors, it is possible that the villain will chop off his hand. After all, Rick's right hand is long gone in the comic books, as it has been forcefully removed by the Governor. It looks like Negan is determined to completely break Rick down in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 1.
Who Are Negan's Victims In 'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Episode 1?
GamenGuide previously wrote about Negan's possible kills in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 1 based on which episodes all the characters will appear in in the series. It has been revealed that both Abraham and Glenn will only be in the first episode, somehow confirming that Negan will kill two members of Rick's group when the show returns on October 23.
