The Motorola X is hotly anticpated. Here are the leaks and rumors circulating about the device so far.
The X phone is currently expected to get some kind of a momentum (an announcement, if not release) at the upcoming Google I/O convention May 15-17 in San Francisco. During the Google I/O we expect light will be shed on the next generation of Android – Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie – and the X phone is also believed to be directly linked to that.
As far as Android 5.0 is concerned, the Motorola X is said to be the first device to run the newest refresh from Google. This would make sense if the X phone is to be unveiled at the I/O, why wouldn't it sport the latest Android build?
However, while there is also a chance that the device might end up arriving with Jelly Bean, since Google and Motorola work so closely together, the first 5.0 update could be first pushed to the X.
The X Phone is also believed to arrive as a phablet and sport a 5-inch Full HD end-to-end screen, alongside a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera. Android Authority writes: “10 MP camera instead of a whopping 16 MP? Bummer, we know, but Google is rumored to focus on “better optics” instead of just cramming more megapixels in the new snapper, which is in fact what most people crave for.”
Moreover, much like iPhone or Nexus phones, the new Motorola device will also have the ability to update its own phone, and will not be limited to carrier control. If not a barrage of updates, at least one upgrade is expected that will be limited to only the users of the Motorola X.
Other rumors surrounding the device include the option for users to select the device’s color, storage, and even the camera’s megapixels. Once the customization is done, the device will be delivered within a week.
