Freeform family TV drama "The Fosters" is returning to its regular programming for the second half of Season 4 early next year. The production team and stars of the hit series tease the air date of the show on their social media pages.
Executive producer Bradley Bredeweg said Freeform has given a green light on the Season 4B of "The Fosters." "The network just called us. Gave us our official date in January. Press release coming very soon. #ChangeIsGood #TheFosters," he said on his Twitter page.
Official air date
Freeform also confirmed that the premiere of "The Fosters" Season 4B will be on Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. The show will take the spot of "Pretty Little Liars" on the network and is expected to wrap up around April.
Sherri Saum, who plays one of the Fosters "mommas," also shared a photo of her and co-star Maia Mitchell (Callie) on the set of the TV series. Saum commented on how Mitchell makes it appear like she was not excited with the smell of raisin toast on the set. To this, the Australian actress said the food is her "least favorite" food thus explaining why she appeared not interested with its aroma.
Midseason finale
The midseason finale of the Freeform drama left the viewers with a mix of emotions and cliffhangers with fans eager to learn what will happen next. Jesus was last seen losing his consciousness after he was punched on the head during a fight with Nick, Mariana's lover. Callie also belatedly learned that she agreed to come with the killer of Martha Johnson while Brandon was broken when he learned he won't be going to Julliard.
What to expect
For the second part of Season 4, viewers are expecting to see how these issues and conflicts will be addressed. One of the most important storylines which the upcoming Season 4B could discuss is how Jesus will recover from his health woes and how the entire family will deal with this major blow.
"The Fosters" follows a family headed by lesbian couple Stef and Lena who raised one biological son and four adopted children. The first episode of the show kicked off when one of the moms picked up disturbed teen Callie from juvy. Callie and her brother Jude became the newest additions to the Fosters family composed of Lena's son Brandon and adopted twins Mariana and Jesus.
