A navy machinist is murdered on the roof of a high-rise in downtown LA in episode 5 of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8. The team, still a member down, will find clues all over the city in the episode titled "Ghost Gun."
According to the official synopsis found in Cartermatt of the "NCIS:Los Angeles" episode, the navy machinist's murder will have the team will follow clues and pieces of evidence on a city-wide hunt. In the same episode, Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly) will return to the series to team up with Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) and help Hetty (Linda Hunt) in the continuing investigation to find the mole in the organization.
It could be remembered that Hetty sacrificed herself for the rest of the team and confessed to being the mole reports TV Guide. She was brought out of her office in handcuffs but was back at her desk in the last episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8. This was after Corbin Duggan's (Jackson Hurst) boss, the secretary of defense, gave her the go signal to return provided she will be able to flush out the mole herself within a set deadline.
Buddy TV reports that in the last episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) was still in the ICU but finally showed signs of coming out of a coma when she repeatedly squeezed Hetty's hand. Despite this however, Granger (Miguel Ferrer) is becoming less hopeful for Kensi's full recovery that he started screening for her potential replacements. Nell (Renee Felice Smith) has been stepping up and teamed up with with Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) in previous episodes.
Although the NCIS team was successful in bringing down a notorious Triad assassin last episode, it also made Granger consider the possibility of bringing in a new agent into the fold. It remains to be seen though if the new member will be Anna who will be returning in this week's episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8.
A trailer for "Ghost Gun" has also been released and it shows Deeks receiving a call from Kensi's mom saying he has to come to he hospital as soon as he can. Later in the trailer for the "NCIS: Los Angeles" episode, the two can be seen huddled around Kensi's hospital bed listening to her doctor speak. The trailer ends with Deeks in tears saying "she needs help...I can't do it."
