"Dark Souls 3" will be getting a new update later this week in preparation for its first expansion. The new patch will be bringing a host of bug fixes and gameplay balance. Also, poise will be given huge importance in the update, being one of the most glaring stats in "Dark Souls 3."
Poise Stat to be Fixed?
Game developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco will be releasing the patch on Friday. It was said to adjust the poise values in "Dark Souls 3." The infamous stat will now be proven more effective on heavier weapons and armory.
The poise stat has been one of the most confusing character attributes in "Dark Souls 3." Since the game launched in April, players have been thoroughly baffled with this game feature. This is because the poise stat does not have the same behavior as compared to the preceding "Dark Souls" installments.
In the original "Dark Souls," poise increases the resistance of all players to be staggered or stun-locked. However, the heavy weapons and armors that supposedly would have had high poise stats did not prove effective in "Dark Souls 3." This issue would then be consequently fixed in the upcoming update.
Other Update Details
Players are then skeptical as to how big of a change the update is bringing to "Dark Souls 3." They anticipate that the change will most likely be a subtle one, wherein only those who are equipped with heavy weapons and armor could actually notice.
However, even "Dark Souls" creator Hidetaka Miyazaki had stated that he was not satisfied by the overall enforcement of the poise stat in "Dark Souls 3." This means that the players may see more drastic changes in the game than they expect.
"Dark Souls 3" update 1.08 will be rolling out on October 21. The full patch notes are available on the game's Steam page. The update is said to be released in preparation of the Ashes of Ariandel expansion to be released on October 25.
