The long wait is over with word that Rockstar Games has made “Red Dead Redemption 2” official. The announcement comes immediately after that mysterious red logo change across the company’s social media accounts, hinting at the sequel’s coming.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" officailly coming in the Fall of 2017
All that was revealed today with Rockstar explaining how “Red Dead Redemption 2” will narrate the epic tale in America’s unforgiving heartland, GameSpot reported. The sequel is expected to offer an entirely new online multiplayer experience with details still kept under wraps.
The long-awaited refresh will delight “Red Dead Redemption” gamers considering that the first installment came out way back in 2010. PlayStation and Xbox versions of “Red Dead Redemption 2” are expected with no word of a potential PC for now. The first installment never came out with a PC version.
Will the other one be “Ghost Story”?
Apparently “Red Dead Redemption 2” will be one of the new games Rockstar has planned though there are more expected. Take-Two Interactive reportedly filed for trademarks for “Ghost Story” so there is a chance that this will be another IP set to come out from Rockstar Games.
Take-Two Interactive is the same company behind Rockstar Games, 2K Games, and 2K Sports. They filed the “Ghost Story” trademark last Oct. 6 via the United States Patent & Trademark Office, one of five new names covering games, movies, and clothing, GameRant reported.
There is a possibility that “Ghost Story” may mean nothing considering the company has had a history of filing trademarks and doing nothing immediate. This includes titles such as “GTA TV” or “Judas” which were eventually left idle.
Regardless, the big news today is really about “Red Dead Redemption 2”. This is one game eagerly awaited so the long wait is finally over, hopefully, something that will bring new features and opportunities for die-hard gamers.
