Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note Set To Get Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2: Android 5.0 Heading Over To S3 And Note 2 [RUMOR]

Here’s some good news for all those who are looking forward to a brand new system update via a new Google Android refresh for their devices.

While devices like the Galaxy Note are yet fully to get the Android Jelly Bean update, an insider report has put up the first pre-list about upcoming Android updates from Samsung, which deals with a number of devices that will get the update.

As revealed by SamMobile, the insider recently tipped the website about the upcoming plans of Samsung and as to which devices are in Samsung’s list to get a new refresh update.

As revealed, Samsung will update the Galaxy S2 and Note to Android 4.2.2 and this will be the last update for these devices. What this means is that both the Galaxy S2 and Note, which received an update from 2.3.6 to 4.0.4 to 4.1.2, will finally stop at Android version 4.2.2.

“Google is the only OEM which gives so many updates to its devices but Samsung is doing the same now. Below is the list of devices, which will receive the Android 4.2.2 update from Samsung,” SamMobile writes.

Moreover, according to the new first pre-list, Samsung will only update as many as five devices to Android 5.0. As of now, the Android 5.0 hasn’t been announced as yet by Google, but is expected to be announced at the upcoming Google IO.

The devices set to get the Android 5.0 update are the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Note 2, Note 8.0 and Note 10.1. SamMobile adds: “Our insider finished with saying that plenty of MID-range Android devices of 2012 / 2013 will also receive a value pack update. Samsung did this before with the first generation of Galaxy devices.”

“The insider confirmed Google’s next version is expected to be a big update and Samsung will take some time to update their devices.”
