‘Assassin’s Creed 4’ Release Date For PlayStation 4, Xbox 720 Clarified

The excitement surrounding the current “Assassin’s Creed 3” is yet to go away, and already there have been talks about the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed” game. There’s now some much needed information regarding the next game’s release.

In the past it was speculated that since “Assassin’s Creed 4” was expected to ship on the same date on the next gen consoles, both the upcoming consoles from Microsoft and Sony would be made public around that time.

However, speculations go away as soon as somebody directly related to the project reveals some information — as did creative director of the game, Jean Guesdon.

After a comment from Guesdon earlier this week suggested that fans might see both Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles at the same time as the game’s release, speculation exploded. However, somehow the information was misinterpreted and Ubisoft recently reached out to VG247 to clarify Guesdon’s comments.

“A Ubisoft spokesperson told VG247 that what Guesdon meant by 'same ship' was that the game was given a same ship date for only Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U. Not Durango and PS4,” the report stated.

As of now, “Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag” is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 on Oct. 31, with the game’s website stating that it is “also coming to next generation consoles,” which can only mean the new PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s upcoming console (720 or Durango – whatever the company might end up naming it eventually).
