Spoilers Ahead

What makes this 75-minute cinematic debut endearing and unforgettable for fans is because of what happens to Ash Ketchum. The movie also introduced Mew and the legendary Mewtwo.

It starts with Team Rocket's leader, Giovanni discovering a fossilized eyelash of the Legendary Pokemon, Mew. He, along with a group of scientists, proceeds to clone it to create an invincible weapon, Mewtwo. On the other hand, the pokemon trainers Ash, Misty, and Brick were on their way to New Island after an invitation to meet the greatest Pokemon Master in the world.

Their trip was riddled with obstacles until they were picked up by Team Rocket and were taken to an island only to run into Mewtwo. With Mewtwo proving to be a formidable opponent for the gang, a long battle ensues.

After 17 years of first gracing the cinemas, the electrifying comeback is sure to be a real treat both for the first generation trainers of the 90s to globetrotting Pokemon Go fanatics of today. For a blast of nostalgia, fans can soon visit the theater to relive the beginnings of the franchise.
