PlayStation 4 Pro Release Date, News & Update: 'Fallout 4' & 'Skyrim Special Edition' To Roll Out; Sony Mods Still Selective?

PlayStation 4 Pro will now be supporting "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim Special Edition" that will also be getting mod support. Previously, game developer Bethesda Softworks announced that the two games will not be getting mod support on Sony's brand new gaming console. Now things have changed and new information has been spotted on Bethesda's official website explaining the whole announcement in detail.

It should be noted that while "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim Special Edition" with mod support will arrive on the PlayStation 4 Pro, it will be limited in scope. On Bethesda's official website the developer announced the order of arrival, "Skyrim" will come out first. It is said that negotiations with Sony have finally pushed through to make this possible, Gear Nuke reported.

Mod support on PlayStation 4 Pro will allow players to modify and create specialized contents by using the Creation Kit. However, uploading external assets with the PS4 mods will not be possible. Instead, any assets that come with the game may be used as most mods do.

Hence, the use of currently existing assets will be allowed while the new custom assets like Lazer Saber mod on the Xbox One cannot be allowed as well as Macho Man Randy Savage dragons and redone textures. "Fallout 4" is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC while "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim-Special Edition" will roll out on Oct. 28, Bleeding Cool reported.

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that Bethesda also released a public statement revealing that the company had not been able to come to terms with Sony on how to figure out mods on the console. Apparently, Sony would not allow players to use mods the way they want to. Bethesda was believed to have fully given up on the PlayStation 4 Pro receiving the two games with mod support.

PlayStation 4 Pro will indeed be receiving two games from Bethesda with mod support. However, external assets, like the ones that came out on Microsoft's gaming console, Xbox One, will not be allowed on Sony's gaming console. Apparently, only in-game assets will be available to players on the PS4 Pro. Watch PS4 MODS Skyrim Remastered & Fallout 4 CONFIRMED + 4K Special Edition Release Date PS4 Ps4 Pro
