In the briefest of glimpses, we're reminded that, yes, "Splinter Cell Blacklist" actually requires some stealth, which means Sam Fisher's night vision goggles aren't being left behind. Ubisoft previously showed off the game to mixed reception, with some concerned about the game's shifted focus to high-adrenaline gunfights over challenging stealth.
Remember that "Call of Duty" style air strike move Sam pulled off that one time? Well, Ubisoft wants us to know they were saving the real "Splinter Cell" stuff for later on. Zack Cooper, community developer for the game, makes the case to wary players.
"You will absolutely need and rely on them in various parts of the game," Cooper pleads.
"Splinter Cell Blacklist" comes to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on August 20. A Wii U version is rumoured but not confirmed. Check out the footage below.
