A Xiaomi octa-core SoC device has recently been spotted online. The handset is rumored to boast a 2.2GHz processor allegedly a Helio P20 chipset and will also include 3GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. The images are speculated to be the Mi 5c although the rear camera allegedly resembles a Redmi phone.
The Xiaomi octa-core SoC smartphone is said to run Android Marshmallow 6.0 with MIUI 8 as well as VoLTE support. The leaked images are speculated to be a sneak peek preview to the Xiaomi Mi 5c. Alternatively, it is also rumored to be the next installment to the Redmi series. Furthermore, the handset is said to come with a price tag similar to the Xiaomi Mi 5s, according to report.
The Xiaomi octa-core SoC handset allegedly features an all-metal body as early sightings have claimed. Rumor has it that the unit is already being tested and will soon be ready to hit the market. Moreover, reports have claimed that the leaked images reveal a more Redmi-type phone than a Mi phone due to the placement of the rear camera.
In addition, the Xiaomi octa-core SoC android phone may also come with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The phone showed a dual tone black coating with a darker bottom sporting what is believed to be the phone's antenna. The device is also said to run on a Snapdragon 821 processor that could make it cost around $300.
In other news, before the Xiaomi octa-core SoC handset hits the stores, the Xiaomi Mi Max "Prime" is expected to go on sale in India for RS 19,999. The Prime is said to make use of a Snapdragon 652 instead of the usual Snapdragon 650 found in other Mi Max handsets. Additionally, the device will include 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, GSM Arena reported.
The Xaomi octa-core SoC smartphone has no official release yet. In the meantime, the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime can be purchased in India beginning Oct. 17 or via Mi.com. The 6.44-inch device will feature 1,080p, dual SIM connectivity, 16MP main camera and 5MP front facing camera, 4,850 mAh battery and Android Marshmallow 6.0 with MIUI 7.
