"Destiny" developers Bungie will be releasing the hard mode of the "Destiny: Rise of Iron" raid next week, and they'll be increasing the game's Light cap because of it. And because that raid's difficulty is going up, that means Bungie is going to be changing the reward system and providing some cool new loot to go with it.
"Destiny" Light Cap is going to go up to 400 from 385 with update 2.4.1, which "Destiny: Rise of Iron" increased when it was released, reports Game Rant. In accordance with this increase, the rewards players will get when they open all the different chests and get different rewards while playing instances are now increased to 400 as well. Rewards they'll get from Archon's Forge events, legendary engrams, and the Heroic SIVA strike will be increased to up to 385 Light, while looting from Rare engrams and normal SIVA strike are up to 365 Light. The update is also going to change the loot drop rate, with more artifacts and ghost shells possibly dropping.
Meanwhile, the Wrath of the Machine raid's Heroic mode is going live on Tuesday, October 18, but the new difficulty isn't going live for "Destiny" players until 2 p.m. Pacific. On a related note, the required Light level for certain instances isn't going to go up except for the Nightfall, which is moving up from 360 to 380. Wrath of the Machine's normal mode is going to take you 370 Light to take on.
"For players forging their path through Wrath of the Machine, Trials of Osiris, and Iron Banner, these activities will now attempt to reward higher Light on average, compared to your current Light," senior designer Victoria Dollbaum told Polygon.
