The Apple iPad Mini 5 is set to be released next. The highly-anticipated device has been eagerly awaited by tech enthusiasts after its predecessor was launched last year. Despite any official statement from Apple, rumors suggest that the device will be released in 2017.
The reason for the delay in the release of the Apple iPad Mini could be because the Cupertino-based tech giant is concentrating all its time and effort in releasing the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 and iMac 2016. The MacBook Air 2016 is also expected to be unveiled this year. However, everything is still at a rumor stage.
The iPad Mini 5 is in a sense overdue. The iPad Mini 4 was released in September 2015 with updated specs, new features and amazing design changes. As per Macworld, a possible release month could be March 2017. The Apple iPad Pro was released in March 2016.
Interestingly, there haven't even been any information leaks pointing towards an Apple iPad Mini 5 release this year. According to NEUROGADGET, the latest rumor doing rounds is that Apple is thinking of merging the iPad Mini 5 with the Apple iPad Pro 2 lineup that may be released soon.
It will be interesting to see whether the iPad Pro Mini as the iPad Mini. Tech enthusiasts, at the moment, want as Apple iPad Mini 5, even if it's the same device. If this merging happens at all, an A9X processor and a 3D pressure sensitive screen could well be incorporated.
According to some sources, the Apple iPad Mini 5 may have a 7.9-inch Retina display with a 7000-series aluminum shell to make the tablet robust and durable. It could also be a millimeter thinner than its predecessor and sport an 8MP primary and 1.2MP secondary camera with True Tone Flash technology.
Other features fans can expect in Apple iPad Mini 5 are 2GB RAM, A9/A10 chipset and 16GB Internal storage with memory expandable up to 64/128GB. The tablet could get an IP68 certification.
