Five years after the second season ended, it looks like we will finally hear some news regarding "Kimi Ni Todoke" season 3. The anime series, based on the manga series of the same name by Karuho Shiina, is one of the most popular animes targeted at the shojo demographic in Japan and was featured in the New York Times Bestseller List a few years ago.
According to reports, NTV has restarted production on "Kimi Ni Todoke" season 3 for the remaining published volumes of the manga. Adaptation into anime form is said to be already in early writing phase so that it can be released in the middle of next year.
NTV is said to be impressed by fan clamor so it has given the "go" signal on the development of "Kimi Ni Todoke" season 3. Another reason for the renewed interest is the sales of manga. According to Anime News Network, back in 2011, "Kimi Ni Todoke" was the bestselling shojo manga and ninth bestselling manga overall with 4.1 million copies sold in Japan alone. The anime also earned many fans worldwide when it started streaming on video streaming platform Hulu under its English series title "From Me To You."
The release date of "Kimi Ni Todoke" season 3 has not been announced yet by home network NTV but it is possible that we will be seeing "Kimi Ni Todoke" season 3 by early 2017. GameNGuide will be covering more on the development and release of "Kimi Ni Todoke" season 3 in the coming weeks.
