First Glimpse At Amber Heard As Mera, Aquaman's Wife In 'Justice League' Draws Criticism From Fans?

Has anyone noticed how all the colors seem to be darkened in Zack Snyder's DCEU films? The trend continues with the first photo of Amber Heard in "Justice League" (via Twitter). Some fans believe that Mera's new look is too dark compared to her appearance in the comic books. However, a few believe that the Queen of Atlantis should be wearing darker shades if she is going to join Jason Momoa's Aquaman in the war against Steppenwolf.

There are speculations that Amber Heard will be getting into the action along with Jason Momoa when Steppenwolf finally appears in "Justice League". After all, Mera is a skilled warrior in the comic books and her superpowers would definitely be useful in the fight against the villain. It is possible that DCEU's Queen of Atlantis will join Aquaman in the battle to save Earth. But will the Zack Snyder film also touch on Mera's comic book origins?

Will 'Justice League' Reveal Amber Heard's Mera As Another DCEU Alien?

In the comic books, Mera is from Dimension Aqua, which is later revealed to be Xebel. Although the people from Xebel are originally from Atlantis, their colony has been banished and they exist in a diffferent dimension. There are speculations that Zack Snyder will tweak a few things about Mera's origins and will portray Amber Heard's character as another DCEU alien. Find out if this will happen when "Justice League" premieres on November 17, 2017.
