There is an ongoing online petition where fans are demanding Disney and the rest of the production team to make "Mulan" live-action movie right. This petition stemmed from the initial news that "Mulan" live-action movie will not follow the original script of the iconic animated movie.
The proposed script for "Mulan" live-action movie will reportedly be about a white man who travels to ancient China, meets Mulan and eventually saves her from her situation. As expected, the fans were enraged when they found out about the possibility of the major script change and thought it was absurd and disrespectful to the original story of "Mulan."
Possible Actors To Play Li Shang In "Mulan" Live-Action Movie
With the ongoing online petition garnering more than 15,000 supporters, the fans are clearly expecting for a true blue Asian cast for "Mulan" live-action movie. One of the rising stars gaining a respectable number of fans and followers are Korean stars Song Joong Ki (Descendants Of The Sun) and Park Shin Hye (Doctors). Song Joong Ki is one of Korea's tourist ambassadors and rose to fame playing the role of Capt. Yoo Si Jin or Big Boss in "Descendants Of The Sun." His role as a captain in the Korean Army makes him perfect for the role of Li Shang in "Mulan" live-action movie.
Previous reports have already tagged Park Shin Hye as one of the coveted actresses to play the role of Fa Mulan in the upcoming "Mulan" live-action movie. Disney has yet to comment on the possibility of casting Korean stars in the "Mulan" live-action movie. "Mulan" live-action movie premieres on Nov. 2, 2018.
