"Longmire" recently ended its fifth season, leaving fans wanting more given that the series ended in a cliffhanger. A renewal of the series will only be fitting to tie the loose ends that the finale had brought. It remains to be seen if Netflix will give the green light for "Longmire" season 6, but fans strongly believe that the online streaming service will renew the series.
"Longmire" season 5 somehow ended with fans asking a lot of questions that only a new season can answer. This is one of the reasons why some supporters of the show believe that "Longmire" season 6 is highly possible. If indeed the series gets renewed, it's likely to air anytime between August and October 2017. Speculation is rife that a new season will follow the release schedule of previous seasons; season 4 was released in August 2015 and season 5 was in September 2016.
Meanwhile, plot speculations for "Longmire" season 6 have also become rampant. Various media outlets report that a new season will most likely focus on Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Walt (Robert Taylor). The two have always had a complicated relationship and it should be high time for writers to address their romantic life in the new season. Although both have had different relationships, it is likely that they will end up together, just like what happened in the books that the series is based from.
"Longmire" season 6 could also deal with Vic's pregnancy. In the previous season, the deputy sheriff got involved with Eamonn (Josh Cooke) and Travis Murphy (Derek Phillips) and one of the two could be the father of the baby she's carrying. Since it is still unknown who Vic's baby daddy is, it is expected that season 6 will reveal his identity. Although Vic has already made relationships with other people, and the same goes for Walt, people still ship the two together. Cartermatt wrote that there's just a lot of interesting layers to their relationship and people would definitely want to know more about what's next for these two.
