"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" might be set in the world of "Harry Potter", but the film takes place in a different time and place. The film follows the story of Newt Scamanger (Eddie Redmayne), who heads to New York in search of magical creatures. However, the movie might still have a direct connection to the first "Harry Potter" books (and films) in Percival Graves, who appears to wear a necklace with the Deathly Hallows symbol. Is it possible that Colin Farrell's character might also be connected to a notable figure in the first book series?
Percival Graves 'Fantastic Beasts' Poster Bears The Deathly Hallows! Colin Farrell's Character Connected To 'Harry Potter' Legend?
Fans were understandably excited when the "Fantastic Beasts" character posters were unveiled, most notably for the one featuring Percival Graves. Colin Farrell's character is seen with a necklace that happens to have a Deathly Hallows pendant, teasing that Percival might aim for invincibility. After all, the "Harry Potter" legend states that anyone who possesses the Deathly Hallows will become invincible. But is it possible that the necklace also confirms Percival's connection to a legendary dark wizard?
According to The Independent, Percival Graves might be connected to Gellert Grindelward. The dark wizard has once taken the Deathly Hallows as his own symbol while looking for magical artifacts. So does this mean that Colin Farrell's villain could be up to no good in "Fantastic Beasts"? And will another "Harry Potter" character appear to try and stop him?
Will Young Albus Dumbledore Show Up To Stop Percival Graves In 'Fantastic Beasts'?
There have been speculations that the Hogwarts headmaster will have an appearance in "Fantastic Beasts" (via MTV). The teasing image of the Deathly Hallows symbol in Percival Graves' poster may have restarted the rumors although there has been no confirmation of Albus Dumbledore's cameo. Fans will have to wait if there are any "Harry Potter" characters who will appear in the film when "Fantastic Beasts" premieres on November 18.
