Xbox.com says that at E3 2016, Microsoft officially announced the coming of "Halo Wars 2" to Xbox One and PC in on Feb. 21, 2017. The game developer previously stated that the game would become available in fall 2016, but they ultimately decided to postpone the release for a few months to completely polish it. They wanted fans to have a clear window to enjoy a game that they are incredibly excited about.
After the announcement, Microsoft also offered the "Halo Wars 2" Multiplayer Beta for players with an Xbox One and Xbox Live Gold subscription. There were two game modes introduced - Domination and Deathmatch. Domination featured the classic real-time strategy gameplay from "Halo Wars," as well as the great depth of "Halo Wars 2." The multiplayer beta was only available on Xbox One and was intended to garner feedback from players so they can come up with an excellent sequel.
Those who purchase a digital copy of "Halo Wars 2" on Windows 10 PC or Xbox One will have access to the other version for free via Xbox Play Anywhere. In "Halo Wars 2," Captain Cutter and his team will be going against The Banish, a powerful faction led by the deadly warrior, Atriox. The game features real-time strategy at the speed of "Halo" combat. Players can expect new units, enemies and multiplayer features when the game arrives.
