LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P are reported to offer discounts on their prices. Both smartphones currently offer a $100 cut-price promo when packaged with the Project FI, with Nexus 5 price going down to as low as $199. There are speculations suggesting that the discount price is due to the introduction of Google Pixel handsets.
Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P In Project FI
Previous reports indicate that LG Nexus brand suddenly disappeared when Google removed the 2015 Nexus models from the Play Store. In spite of this, Nexus survived, through the phone models 5X and 6P, as both are still available through Project FI, along with discounted prices. In addition to this, the tech giant's Group Plans will enable access of Project FI's features for a group of up to five individuals. For a $15 per month, five individuals may be added to the plan, where each can get their own number.
Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P Promos
This LG Nexus 5x promo is also applicable to Huawei Nexus 6P that offers a $100 discount. According to reports, the Chinese manufacturer offers the handset beginning at $499, and with Project FI, the upfront pay will be reduced to $399. Given the offer, buyers are expected to consider that Nexus 6P with 5.7-inch screen and Pixel XL with 5.5-inch screen have almost the same premium design, including user interface and high-end hardware specs, according to a report.
Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P Camera App
Meanwhile, Google Nexus 5X and 6P have been able to run Google Camera app, or version 4.2 after being ported by the XDA Developers. According to a posting by the developers, this will not be installed on top of the pre-existing camera app, since the new app is a modified version. In addition, the new camera app will not work on non-Nexus handset, which means any device that works on unofficial Android 7.0 Nougat, the new app will not function.
Google Pixel Features
Other Pixel feature that has reportedly been ported includes the Pixel exclusive Google Assistant. Meantime, the Pixel handsets' system image was reported to have leaked, giving everyone the chance to see the updated apps coming with the Pixel smartphones, Android Headlines reported.
