More than a year to go before "Star Wars: Episode VIII" yet GameNGuide can't scratch the itch to bring spoilers and details about director Rian Johnson's episode. Be warned though that there are plenty of leaks and spoilers in the succeeding lines so proceed at your own discretion.
Johnson wrote the script for "Star Wars: Episode VIII" as well so good that some of his interviews revealed more than necessary. First, Johnson narrated that the 8th title in the franchise will resume from the very part where episode 7 ended. No more nostalgic flashes but direct into the story continuation. Further, episode 8 doesn't contain anti-climactic plot and everything are "what happens next," Johnson added.
According to Business Insider, "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will also sport full dialogues from character Luke Skywalker. This is because episode 8 is different among previous Star Wars in a sense that more dramatic scenes were added. Johnson opt to focus on the character's depth instead of plenty of CGI actions. Remember Bruce Willis' "Looper" movie? Johnson directed it so expect similar drama-action results in this new Star Wars.
"Star Wars: Episode VIII" will look back a bit at Han Solo persona. There will be a funeral scene and focus is given in Solo's roller coaster ride in this intergalactic story. Of course, his love interest princess Leia, downs and ups are all included. Think of how "The Empire Strikes Back" partly separated from the main focus due to its darker and deeper tone, BGR said.
Now for the fun part, "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will show most about Kylo Ren. Director Johnson is apparently a fan of this ambiguous character so he attempts to shed light and put him in spotlight this time. There will be plenty of necessary flashbacks to explain who he really is and how he ended up being a leader of Knights of Ren. Johnson will also explain in this movie why Ren decided to embrace the Sith force and use it against the Jedi order.
