"24: Legacy" will see a return of one of it surviving characters from the original series, and that includes Tony Almeida. In a statement by show runners Manny Coto and Evan Katz published by TV Line, it says that they are pleased with Carlos Bernard, who portrayed the role of Tony Almeida, and that they are thrilled to have him back in the show.
However, fans are wondering whose side Tony Almeida will be in "24: Legacy." Will he be a friend or a foe to Eric Carter, portrayed by Corey Hawkins of "Straight Outta Compton?" Carter and his wife Anna will be sought by Bin-Khalid's men after the ranger took out Sheik Ibrahim Bin-Khalid, a terrorist leader.
As we know, Tony Almeida was a confidante to Jack Bauer for the first four seasons. But when his wife, Michelle Dessler (Reiko Aylesworth), got killed in a tragic car bomb, things dramatically changed. Fans were made to believe that Tony Almeida was killed at the end of season 5 with a lethal dose of hyoscine-pentothal. For the entire season 6, Almeida was not seen and viewers seemed to have forgotten his character until he appeared in "24" season 7 as a villain who works with a group of terrorist who wants to blackmail the president.
The twist that comes after Tony Almeida's re-appearance was a roller coaster for some viewers. It was later found out that he is working undercover with the terrorist group along with Chloe O'Brian and Bill Buchanan. But it is no surprise to followers that everything was planned so that Tony Almeida could revenge the death of his wife. He was later apprehended by Jack Bauer but was later given the chance to escape. What Tony Almeida does now is what viewers can expect of "24: Legacy."
"24: Legacy" will air on Feb 5 after Super Bowl 51.
