"Kingdom Hearts 3" has been rumored to be release on PS4 and Xbox One, however the date when this will happen was not specified. Based on speculations, Square Enix is launching the game sometime in 2017.
At the moment, the game developer is focused on releasing "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" which was confirmed for Jan. 24, 2017 launch. Square Enix also revealed Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter will also have its limited edition pack which will be exclusive for PS4. The special edition is scheduled for launch in Europe and North America.
Moreover, "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" Prologue is already available for pre-order via Square Enix's own store. Players can get the game for $59.99 and those who will order in advance will receive an upgrade to limited edition at no extra cost.
When you buy the KHD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, the items that you will receive in the pack include Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts: X Back Cover (movie) and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage.
At any rate, it has been a while since Square Enix mentioned about "Kingdom Hearts 3" but avid gamers must not worry as the gaming company reiterated that the game's production is underway and it is going smoothly.
On Kingdom Hearts Twitter post, a copy of game creator Tetsuya Nomura was posted and translated. One part of the article talks about the release and development in "Kingdom Hearts 3."
"The other game we are working on, Kingdom Hearts 3, is coming along steadily. There are new worlds in which you can run, jump. I'm very excited about moving Sora around in the wider space with his higher range of maneuverability."
Nomura further said that 2017 will be a big year for them because they will be celebrating Kingdom Heart's 15th anniversary. The game was first released on March 2002 and they are planning many things for the occasion.
Some fans believe that Nomura was citing "Kingdom Hearts 3" when he blurted out that he and his team are offering "something else" for the 15th anniversary celebration. Nevertheless, fans have to wait a few more months before it can be confirmed whether he was really referring to KH3 or not.
