"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is set to unveil the result of Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) deadly game and the aftermath of the gory Lucille's head-bashing moment. However, the AMC show's latest clip teased of another brutal encounter between Negan and Rick (Andrew Lincoln).
Beloved characters of the AMC series "The Walking Dead" may be faced with one of the scariest villains in its zombie apocalyptic world. The upcoming Season 7 premiere would finally unveil the identity of Negan's murderous actions. Rick will lose one of his friends in a brutal move that will impact the said character forever.
However, the trailer shown during the recently held New York Comic-Con may have hinted of something else that Rick may stand to lose. A plotline previously featured in "The Walking Dead" comic book series where Rick lost his hand may be introduced in the upcoming Season 7, according to TV Guide.
Avid fans may recall that Rick lost his hand to The Governor in a previous chapter of the comic books. The said plot was not included in the AMC series during its earlier seasons that featured the said villain.
The same incident may finally happen in the AMC show given the series' latest teaser. The said clip features a quick look at the aftermath of Negan's head-bashing attack. Rick, with the right side of his face streaked with blood, appears shocked and shaken by what happened.
Despite the severity of the situation, Rick still managed to taunt Negan as he promised to kill the said villain sometime in the future. Negan then commented on the importance of having a "right hand" or a trusted man to help him with his duties and future plans.
After being told that Rick's weapon of choice is a hatchet, Negan asked for the small axe to be brought to him. He then drags Rick towards his trailer with the hatchet and his favorite bat Lucille. The said scene led to speculations that Negan may cut off Rick's hand given his earlier statement.
Meanwhile, the AMC show's Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd commented during the New York Comic-Con that Season 7 will feature a "more expansive" world, according to Variety. Some of the iconic characters from "The Walking Dead" comic books will make an appearance in the upcoming season. These characters include the Kingdom's ruler Ezekiel (Khary Payton), as well as Shiva, his pet tiger.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will premiere on Oct. 23 on AMC. Watch the show's latest trailer below:
