The anticipation for "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is getting stronger by the minute. And while some are just counting the days until they will learn the fate of the the characters in the much-awaited premiere, some have not given up in guessing as to who was brutally Lucilled by Negan. If "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is aiming for a shock factor, there's a big chance that they will kill off a major character. This leads to the question if the show is ready to kill off fans' favorite, Daryl Dixon.
“The Walking Dead” Season 6 concluded with the show’s most tense cliffhanger. In the last moments of the finale, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group are captured by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors. For now, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere clip only shows one character who is safe from Negan's wrath - Rick. Although "The Walking Dead" Season 7 fans are relieved to know that he survived Negan's most dangerous game of “eenie meenie miney moe,” many are worried about Daryl's (Norman Reedus) fate.
A splash of blood will be seen on Rick's right cheek which means that whoever was Lucilled by Negan was on his right side. If you will recall last season's finale, the characters on his right side and potential victims are Glenn, Rosita, Abraham, Michonne, Maggie, and Daryl. Yes, Daryl. But just as fans are close to finally figuring out Negan's victim, some reminded fans that the show is known for stirring things up and things are always not what it seems (remember Glenn's dumpster scene?). Whatever the outcome will be, for now Daryl is still not officially safe.
Daryl already almost didn't make it once before. "The Walking Dead" March season finale may have caused a few panic attacks for fans of the hit show as it ended with a bloody cliffhanger. Daryl was shockingly shot by Dwight (Austin Amelio) point blank and fans have no idea if Daryl was dead or alive at the time.
Obviously, Daryl survived that finale, but will he still be safe this time around? One of the unofficial mottos of "The Walking Dead" fandom is "if Daryl dies, we riot." So will there be a riot after the show's premiere episode? For now all we can do is to wait for "The Walking Dead" Season 7 as it premieres in AMC this October 23.
