"Red Dead Redemption 2" has been rumored to launch soon based on a recent job posting by Rockstar Games. The game is also rumored to roll out under a new name. The game is also said to be an inspiration of the "Westworld" on HBO.
The speculation for the imminent release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" started from a post on Twitter. In the official Twitter account of Rockstar Careers, a job posting emerged for an Operations Project Manager to join the company's Online Services Operations team in San Diego, California.
Among the manager's responsibilities is to work closely with the team and manage the entire project lifecycle of multiple initiatives including but not exempted to conceptualization, implementation, deployments in multiple stages as well as testing to ensure that game services are readily available at utmost performance.
The job posting did not specify which franchise the project manager will be working on. Nevertheless, rumor has it that Rockstar may be adding online multiplayer options for "Red Dead Redemption 2" just like the features on "GTA Online" and "GTA V". Additionally, another job posting has been spotted for a .NET engineer to focus on improving online gaming performance of Rockstar.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is deemed to release in 2017 with possible support for the latest generation of consoles like Microsoft Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Pro. The game is also rumored to sport a brand-new title sans the "Redemption" tagline. A report claimed that the game is slated to be released as "Legends of the West", "Red Dead 3" or "Red Dead Tribulation".
In other news, HBO's new drama series entitled "Westworld" is said to have drawn inspiration from games like "Red Dead Redemption 2", "Bioshock" and "Skyrim," IGN reported. It is said that interesting stories are coming from video games as of the moment, "Westworld" showrunner Jonathan Nolan mentioned in an interview with VICE.
The "Red Dead Redemption" storyline is said to provide a fascinating challenge being that morality is a variable requiring a narrative wherein the hero's moral component exists on a spectrum, Nolan added. The director also noted the role of the non-playable characters as they inhabit a world where the player is not always the main attraction show that lives happen whether the gamer is there or not. "Westworld" made its debut on HBO this week.
