Blizzard has already released the patch notes for patch 5.2, better known as the Thunder King update for "World of Warcraft's" Mists of Pandaria expansion, but now they're offering a much better look at the patch in the form of a trailer. Check it out below!
The patch will add in a new raid dungeon, multi-faceted quest hub, Pet Battle improvements, new world bosses, significant class balance changes, brand new pets and mounts, assorted bug fixes, and more. My gaming crack comes courtesy of Tconsoles, so I'm a bit of an outsider to "WoW." Even so, I have to admit this update looks pretty impressive.
However, "WoW" regulars may not feel the same way. Shortly after the expansion launched, it was revealed that sales of Pandaria were significantly decreased compared to "Wow's" last expansion, "Cataclysm."
The game set the standard for the MMORPG genre upon release, but after 9 years and plenty of other games in the genre available on the market to challenge "WoW's" claim to the throne, gamers might be getting a bit bored with it. It remains to be seen if this new patch will help revitalize interest in not only the expansion, but "WoW" overall.
The patch release was originally targeted for the last week of February, but given that we're in that week, and Blizzard still hasn't provided a release date, it looks like players may not see the titular Thunder King until March at the earliest.
