iOS 10 went beyond the halfway mark in just a matter of two weeks after it was made available. Research reveals that more than 55 percent of all of its devices already run the Apple's newest operating system.
Based on the statistics gathered by Mixpanel, a research company, the iOS 10 adoption is moving at 55.29 percent as of recent tally. The iOS 9, on the other hand, stands at only 43.8 percent. In a nutshell, the previous version of Apple's operating system fell to 4.71 percent when it comes to distribution.
The new metrics were made available two days after the iOS 10 surpassed its older iOS version for most shares within compatible devices. Supporting the Mixpanel's numbers, other different findings coming from AppLovin sees that the latest operating system of Apple powers 55 percent of iPhones in the United States as reported by Recode.
Consumer uptake of the iOS 10 is considered pretty fast when it comes to any big Apple software release. In just 24 hours after the successful debut of the iOS 10 earlier this month, the initial number from Mixpanel has put adoption at already 14 percent. After a week, the tally displayed moderate progress to one-third of compatible devices according to Apple Insider.
Apple the tech giant company, however, has yet to announce the official adoption number of the iOS 10. Traditionally, Apple posts regular updates on its iOS version distribution via support webpage of a developer. However, the resource has not been brought up to date since Sept. 12, which is the day prior to the launching of the iOS 10.
In spite of the continuous gains, it is observed that consumers are at a slower pace of switching to the iOS 10 than the iOS 9, which achieved 50 percent mark in just four days a year ago.
The iOS 10 boasts a number of users design enhancements, new improved features, and other additions to Maps, Photos, SIri, Messages, News, Apple Music, and more. Watch a video on "iOS 10 Review - Should You Update?" here:
