Offering up a preview at what's to come over at the Injustice: Gods Among US Battle Arena this week, the host Taryn Southern revealed that two new characters will be featured in this week's brouhaha: former Green Lantern Sinestro, and the mace wielding Hawk Girl.
The clip offers only brief glimpse of the two newcomers, while various nobodies share their thoughts on who beats who. Of course, you could always seek someone a bit more knowledgable on the matter...
It's nice to see NeatherRealms is throwing a bit of a wider net into the DC Universe. Granted, it's not Plastic Man or Bibbo that they're reeling back in (which would really mix things up), but it's nice that they're using characters who've never been seen in videogames on this level before.
Sinestro and HawkGirl bring the game's total amount of playable characters to 20. They'll join Aquaman, Captai...I mean, Shazam, Lex Luthor, Bane, Deathstroke, Batman, Superman, the Flash, Cyborg, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, the Joker, Green Arrow, Green Lanten, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Solomon Grundy, with even more on the way. According to the presentation at last year's EVO, the full roster will feature 24 playable characters and 15 arenas.
This means we're finally coming down to the wire on the game's total roster. Boon does plan on introducing a few characters you might not expect. "With Mortal Kombat, we brought in crazy guests like Freddy Krueger. So we'll definitely want to introduce unexpected characters [via DLC] to Injustice. That'll be our strategy. It's comparable to Mortal Kombat, but being really aggressive with our DLC characters."
Injustice: Gods Among Us is set to release this April for PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360.
