Niantic has a lot lined up for “Pokemon Go” and one that touches on the state of rare critters is the recently revealed ‘catch bonus’ which will reward players with medals to help in capturing the rare Pokemon characters.
As mentioned in a previous post, “Pokemon Go” players will get better odds when it comes to catching a specific type of Pokemon. All this will boil down the type of the critter targeted though the feature will be limited to Psychic, Kindler, and Gardner for now.
More Medals, More Chances
The only thing known for now with the ‘capture bonus’ is that “Pokemon Go” players can look forward to more creatures over the horizon. However, the details are somewhat incomplete for now though it is likely that the upcoming feature will get updated once it does become available.
The simplest way to explain it is that players need to catch a certain Pokemon to reach a higher tier for a certain medal on “Pokemon Go”. Players who repeatedly catch a specific type of Pokemon can look forward to new tier for their medal.
It should be noted as well that there are some Pokemon who are of multiple types. As mentioned in a previous post, Pidgey is a good example. This “Pokemon Go” character is a ‘normal’ and ‘flying’ type which somehow throws the ‘catch bonus’ feature off.
The answer to that is that the average of the bonus for each will be taken to determine the bonus a “Pokemon Go” player would be getting, BGR reported.
Either way, the new feature will certainly be a welcome addition to “Pokemon Go” though there is no word when it will officially roll out. It remains to be seen if the ‘catch bonus’ will be included on Niantic’s next update, “Pokemon Go” Gen 2.
