If you hit the sheets early, chances are you mised the latest peek at Killzone: Shadow Fall on last night's Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Sony's PS4 reveal gave us a long cinematic trailer for the game, but Fallon actually got the chance to play the game. Actor Anthony Anderson joins in and gets a great Hellghast neck snap, finally getting a little redemption after getting his ass handed to him by Jet Li in "Romeo Must Die" years ago.
Before launching into the gameplay, Fallon takes a good look at the PS4's DualShock 4 controller. Fallon takes the time to note the shoulder controls, which have evolved from mere "buttons," to triggers. The inverted style is not unlike the trigger of a gun, so it's obviously great for shooters. After that, it's all gun blazing glory.
According to the PlayStation Blog, Shadow Fall is "set in a near future, thirty years after the events of Killzone 3. The world is a very different place; two rival factions known as the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall." The blog describes a powder keg of cold war styled tension that's about to explode. Shadow Fall will allow gamers to take situations with in many ways, including "bold attacks, to quiet infiltrations or all out combat."
Confirming the game as an official PS4 launch title, co-founder of Guerilla Games Herman Hulst said Killzone: Shadow Fall will arrive alongside the PS4 this holiday season.
