On Valentine's Day next year, Ubisoft fans will finally get their hands on the upcoming action hack and slash video game, "For Honor." We previously unveiled the character types found in the highly anticipated action game. The latest news surrounding the upcoming game is that the previously required split-screen feature has been scrapped by the studio.
According to Gamespot, producer Stephane Cardin revealed the news to IGN, saying that while it was something that the studio considered a "key feature" in the game, they had to make the decision to trash it. Cardin said that they decided to ditch it "so we can polish all the features at the Triple-A level and make sure that we have the most amazing experience."
During last year's E3, "For Honor" creative director Jason VandenBerghe claimed that it was actually a "key feature" in the game, but it looks like the studio was forced to do away with it in the meantime. The studio claims that if they pursued the split-screen feature, it would definitely impact "the quality of other elements that are more crucial to the For Honor experience." Such elements include the online co-op in both campaign and multiplayer modes.
The news isn't so bad for "For Honor" players, though, as the game received some positive reviews from those who participated in the closed alpha last month. According to Eurogamer, one player even reached level 121 in the game in just a matter of 53 hours.
"For Honor" is set to be released on February 14, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. We recently reported on the different class types found in the game, including the Samurai, Viking, and Knight, and reported on the closed alpha that began during the second week of September. We also reported on the game modes in the upcoming "For Honor." Comment below and tell us what exactly do you want to see in the upcoming hack and slash game from Ubisoft.
